This post is not marketing or advertising related all all beside the fact that I am advertising for a organization called Fluffy Dog. Check out the many great dogs available for adoption or fostering through their link to Pet Finder. There are so many wonderful dogs just waiting for a great family to take them in. If you can't take one in consider helping out with donations for the ones who have special needs.
They melt your hearts!
I am sure one will find its way to the Huebner household soon!

Super Cool Search Engine
You have to check out the super cool search engine called addictomatic.com. It takes your search term and shows you everything that it can find on the Internet. It shows traditional website entries as well as blog entries.
It also has a selection of "canned" topics at the top of the page as well.
Watch out - it can eat up a good amount of your time fast. Another good procrastinating tool!

Super Cool Conference!
I just stumbled upon a conference happening in October. The New Marketing Summit is featuring Chris Brogan and Paul Gillin. These are two really smart guys in the new media/social media world. If you can't go visit their blogs.

Why travel insurance is important
If you have a child and plan to travel, don't forget to buy the travel protection insurance. I attended the AAAA's Media Conference in Orlando last week (another topic for another day). My family was scheduled to fly to Orlando and we were going enjoy a few days at Disney World. However, the flu bug invaded our house about 6 hours prior to departure. Needless to say, we could not take our 4 year old on a plane in the state he was in. So there I was, cancelling and rearranging flights at 4:30am from my hotel room in Orlando. Not the happiest place on earth at that time. Thankfully, I had the foresight to purchase the travel insurance when I booked my husband and son's flight.
My son seemed to recover from the heart break quicker than my husband and I. Thank god kids are resilient. A $10 Bionicle from Target made him a happy kid.
It took a few glasses of wine for us.

Learn Something on Your Way Home
If you live in the greater Milwaukee area, the constant stream of snowfall has made the daily commute about twice as long this winter. So, in an attempt to keep my sanity, I have become addicted to podcasts.
It's nearly impossible to keep up with all of the advertising industry emails and blogs that you encounter on a daily basis. So I have started using this alone time in the car to catch up on what is going on in the advertising world and social media. It's amazing how quickly the time can go...
Here are a couple of my favorite:

Here are a couple of my favorite:
- Influence 2.0 Podcasts
- Marketing Matters with M7
- Social Media Cast
- The Programming Insider Podcast
And a few for fun:
- Manic Mommies
- The DivaCast
I also throw in a trashy audio book here and there as well.

Why I am blogging...
We have created a new website at our agency which included blogs and podcasts. I was one of the first employees to be on the blog "list". I was not excited about this prospect. 1) I don't like writing. 2) It makes me uncomfortable. 3) I didn't want to be judged, etc.... But now that I have made the leap, it is kind of liberating. It's like writing in a diary but others can read it. I hope to update this with insightful media topics, cool stuff or just rants (I promise I won't name names!).
Thanks for reading!
